I have worked in different tailor shops in CT and NY for the past 25 years and I have been doing alterations since the age of 16. I learned the trade while living in my native country. PERU. I inherited this passion from my mom who has been sewing for the past 50 years and who still sews by my side today.I have experience in all fields of alterations including gowns for wedding, prom, and other special occasions. I also will construct custom gowns for anyone looking to make their dream gown come true.
Basilisa Montalvan
My mom has been a seamstress for the past 60 years, and was the owner of the original Alterations By Ines (which she named after me) store in Peru 20 years ago. She originally began studying design and dressmaking at Art Studio Academy in the center of Lima,Peru. Her goal was to become a Professor at the school in which she attended, but I was born and she started working from home, and became known as " la milagrosa de las telas" which translates to the miracle maker of the fabrics and later became so popular she opened her own shop.
